Oborevwori Congratulates Sefia At 97
The Governor of Delta State, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, has congratulated elder statesman and former representative of Nigeria at the United Nations, (UN), High Chief Ambassador Gabriel Najomo Orumere (GNO) Sefia on his 97th birth anniversary.
The Governor also felicitated the retired diplomat and erstwhile Chairman of Delta State Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Elders Council on his installation as the Okpako-Orere (eldest man) of Ovwian Community in Udu Local Government Area.
Oborevwori’s felicitation was contained in a statement issued in Asaba by his Chief Press Secretary, Sir Festus Ahon, wherein he lauded the nonagenarian for his exemplary service to the nation, the state and his community.
The Governor paid glowing tributes to the legendary public servant and politician, saying that Sefia’s place in history as a detribalised Nigerian and respected leader was assured going by the numerous testimonies of his outstanding accomplishments and contributions to nation-building.
“On behalf of my family, the government and people of Delta State, I congratulate an illustrious Deltan and elder statesman, High Chief Amb. Gabriel Najomo Orumere (GNO) Sefia on his 97th birth anniversary and installation as the Okpako-Orere (eldest man) in Ovwian Community, Udu Local Government Area of Delta State.
“I rejoice with our dear father and leader for attaining this height and pray that God grants him more strength and wisdom to continue rendering selfless service to humanity.
“As a former Chairman of the State PDP Elders Council, you have over the years committed yourself to the service of our dear state through your wealth of experience and wisdom.
“In building our MORE Agenda, we will continue to leverage the peaceful disposition, solidarity and support of highly accomplished and respected elder statesmen like you.
“I join your family, friends and well-wishers to thank Almighty God for His continued guidance, protection and provision for you in the past 97 years of a life of outstanding patriotism and great accomplishments,” he said.
